  • Placed in the top 10 out of 50 competitors in the Miss Texas pageant - state preliminary to Miss America. Won scholarship money to contribute to masters degree

  • $3,500 grant awarded for a humanities based research project.

  • 2nd place prize awarded to my creative nonfiction piece “Crafted By The Hands of God” by Rice’s literary magazine, the Rice Review

  • Awarded to approximately 2,000 students by local Yale Alumni Chapters to recognize scholastic achievement, personal excellence, and outstanding classroom performance.
